EFFECTS OF PLASMALOGEN AND ACYL STRUCTURAL ANALOGS OF PLATELET-ACTIVATING-FACTOR ON SUPEROXIDE RADICAL PRODUCTION BY HUMAN-LEUKOCYTES

摘要
The effects of plasmalogen and acyl structural analogs of platelet-activation factor (PAF) on the formation of superoxide radicals (O2-) by isolated human blood leukocytes were studied It was shown that 1-OF-acyl-2-ace-tyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 1-0-(1-'-alkenyl)-2-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine stimulate superoxide radical production in leukocytes and are close in activity to PAF. The ability of plasmalogen and acyl PAF analogs to stimulate oxidative metabolism in leukocytes depends substantially on the structure of the polar portion of the PAF analogs. It is suggested that choline-containing plasmalogen and acyl analogs of PAF may be specific lipid bioregultators of neutrophil function.
