Various types of lattice magnetic monopole configuration, both self-dual and electrically neutral, are constructed and described. A time-independent Dirac operator is expressed in terms of staggered lattice fermions, and it is demonstrated that the spectrum of this operator in the monopole fields contains approximate zero energy modes with non-vanishing chirality, in accordance with semi-classical results. The prospects for the numerical measurement of magnetic charge at non-zero temperature are briefly discussed. © 1980.
