摘要
The "tipping point" refers to a critical threshold, at which a perturbation can trigger the evolution of a system into a new state. Here we consider the "tipping elements" as sub-components of the climate system that may pass a tipping point. They are presented and evaluated for the climate system under anthropogenic forcing, with their sensitivity to the level of global (local) warming, the uncertainties and the distance of the present climate system to these tipping points. Some prevention measures of the occurence of these extreme events are finally discussed.
