摘要
The deformation behaviour of a nickel base alloy, Nimonic PE16, has been studied under monotonic (creep/tensile) and cyclic (Low Cycle Fatigue) loading at elevated temperatures. This alloy is strengthened by precipitates of the ordered (L1(2)) gamma' phase. Mechanisms of dislocation - precipitate interaction operative under different deformation conditions have been microscopically identified. The threshold stresses corresponding to these mechanisms have been derived from an analysis of the mechanical data as well as from theoretical considerations of the dislocation reactions. An understanding of the behaviour under monotonic and cyclic loading has been obtained by analysing the mechanical data at 923 K in the light of the threshold stresses.
