摘要
The study is aimed at an understanding of the variation in impact toughness over the extreme ends of aging temperature available for 17-4 PH stainless steel and the effect of rate of cooling after solution annealing at ca. 1310K. The study in regard to the effect of rate of cooling on impact toughness is important, particularly for heavy sections ( greater than 200mm dia) which are generally subjected to slow cooling after solution annealing at 1310K, so as to ensure minimisation of internal stresses across the section.
