摘要
The present study has the general objective to understand the process for deploying a strategic PMO. The research becomes relevant concerning the growth in adoption and implementation of strategic and PMOs to carry out strategic support functions. It is also observed that many of these structures are being deployed under different formats, and therefore an object of study that needs to be better investigated. A qualitative approach was adopted for this study, through a case study in a public institution, with the technical procedures of collecting three narratives, as well as institutional documents obtained and test procedure content analysis techniques and coding. The results show that there are differences regarding the process of implementation of the PMO when compared to studies in the existing literature. Moreover, it was observed that the strategic PMO was implemented gradually in a continuous process of improvement of practices. However, the study presents as implications the need to reflect on the functions performed by the office, as well as the possibility of extending its scope of participation, using a decentralized structure that allows greater organization and division of their functions.
