摘要：
The structure of the title compound comprises C7H9N4S+ cations [2-(thiosemicarbazonomethyl)pyridinium], Cl- anions and a water molecule of crystallization which stabilizes the crystal lattice through a network of hydrogen bonds. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, the organic moieties of which show great planarity. Spectroscopic studies carried out in both the solid state and aqueous solution are in accordance with the existence of a pi-delocalized system along each organic cation.
