摘要：
In the present study, the sliding wear coefficients of hypotectoid steels used in manufacturing many machine elements have been investigated theoretically and experimentally. Under dry sliding conditions a relationship between the wear coefficient and carbon content in the steel has been established. It has been shown that the sliding wear coefficient and mass loss were reduced by increasing carbon content. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
