DETECTION OF HYDROXYL RADICAL FROM PHOTOEXCITED CHLOROPHYLLS ON MAGNESIUM-OXIDE POWDER IN AQUEOUS-MEDIA USING THE ESR SPIN-TRAPPING TECHNIQUE

摘要
A potent active oxygen of hydroxyl radical has been detected in aqueous media of the photoexcited chlorophylls on MgO powder by using the ESR spin trapping technique. The mechanism for the production of the radical is discussed refering to three-electrons reduction of oxygen by the photoexcited chlorophylls on MgO.
