The data on the 176Yb(p, 3nγ)174Lu reaction published by Bruder et al. have been further analyzed, by taking into account newer results from the 170Er(7Li, 3nγ)174Lu reaction. The Kπ = 2+ {p 9- 2}[514-n] 5- 2[512] configuration was assigned to a new band having levels with energies close to those of the band proposed by Bruder et al. for which a new assignment is discussed. Three further new bands were disclosed. In addition we present a critical discussion on the measurement of the 174mLu magnetic moment by Krane et al. Reevaluating their data we get a new value which nearly eliminates an anomaly in the g-factors previously evinced by Kern et al. © 1990.
