The third tiger. Borges in the labyrinth of aliens

This article seeks to approach Jorge Luis Borges' poetical work from the point of view of the expression of the feeling and the thought of the foreigner. His experience as a foreigner characterizes Borges as a modern writer and acts as an organizing axis of his vital and poetical conception. The poet observes how the universe and the time that supports it possess multiple faces that make the idea of a univocal reality impossible; at the same time as there exists a multiple and different reality, the poet is parallelly and progressively constructing the idea of being different and foreign through the cancellation or the multiplication of his identity and of the analysis of the specific conditions - exile, the loneliness, innocence, love, the language, etc.-that concern and that characterize him.
