ABOVE-SURFACE AND BELOW-SURFACE ELECTRON-EMISSION FROM MULTIPLY-CHARGED IONS INTERACTING WITH METAL-SURFACES

摘要
Energy spectra of electrons ejected during collisions of H-like nitrogen and bare carbon ions on a Ni surface are analysed. It is found that at most 10% of the KLL Auger electrons are emitted from above the surface.
