摘要
The five-coordinate copper(II) complex [(3,3'-trimethylenedinitrilo)bis(2-butanone oximato)]copper(II) bromide (CuHLBr) has been prepared and its crystal structure has been determined. The complex has a square-pyramidal structure with the copper displaced 0.43 angstrom out of the basal nitrogen plane. The Cu-Br distance is 2.955 angstrom. The differences in the structures of the copper(II) and copper(I) complexes is discussed. Covalency of the coordinate bond for the title complex is also discussed based on ESR spectra.
