摘要：

This article analyses functions of the Hornad Microregion in the district of Kosice okolie on the basis of some characteristics and indicators - economic activity, unemployment, commuting, social structure of population etc. Its objective is the identification of functional types of settlements in this region and researching the measure of transformation of this structure in the years 1991 - 2001 up to the present.
