摘要
Anaesthesia during electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a challenging proposition. ECT requires adequate seizures to be effective, but anaesthetic agents commonly suppress convulsions. Therefore, the success and safety of ECT depends on understanding the interactions between anaesthetic drugs and seizure activity, being aware of the cardiovascular effects of ECT and their treatment, and the correct choice of agents for the individual patient. © 2006 Adis Data Information BV.
