摘要
The management of large defects in the thoracic cavity, following complex chest wall resections, with or without lung resections, remains challenging and controversial. There are several factors affecting the treatment plan, including but not limited to position of defect, sterility of tissues, nutritional status of tissues and patient, size of defect and availability of prosthetic materials in individual practices. The current review attempts to provide a logic sequential, evidence based, treatment plan in such complex scenarios taking in consideration the individual needs of the patient and the medical team.
