Based on the SHI database on the structureless transport of large-particle bedloads, 28 formulas that include bedform height and velocity are validated. These formulas demonstrated an error no higher than 50% and can be recommended for the conditions of active structureless sediment transport in mountain and piedmont rivers. Eight of these formulas can be recommended for a wide range of hydraulic conditions in plain and mountain rivers. © 2023, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
