摘要
In the present study a numerical model of two dimensional contaminant transport through stratified saturated porous media has been analysed using meshfree method called element free Galerkin method. A two dimensional form of advective–diffusive transport equation for the multi-layered soil is considered for the analysis. A FORTRAN program has been developed to obtain numerical solution and the results are validated with the results in the literature. The results are in good agreement and further parametric study has been done. Effect of change of dispersion, velocity, porosity, distribution coefficient and thickness of layer has been observed on the concentration of the contaminant. © 2015, Indian Geotechnical Society.
