摘要
Recently, molecular biology techniques are widely used in food analysis; yet, the complexity of food matrices causes difficulty in purification and analysis of the analyte. The aim of this study was to introduce a new material, zeolite Y, that is able to isolate DNA even from low DNA content food samples; and, to demonstrate the integrity of isolated DNA via real-time polymerase chain reaction. Although the purity of the isolated DNA has to be improved with further work, Zeolite Y was shown to have a potential to be effectively used in DNA isolation for food analysis especially for low DNA content food samples.
