摘要
The apozygotic mode of seed reproduction (in vivo) in sugar beet provided quite an efficient realization of embryogenetic program in haploid embryo sac cells. It leads to a relatively high occurrence frequency of haploid seedlings in apozygotic seed progenies. It is emphasized that haploid plants are drastically different from those of diploid both in their morphology and duration of basic individual developmental stages. Considerable epigenomic variability was observed in haploid plant microsporocyte populations, and it, provided realization of meiotic process. A relatively high frequency of microspore diads, triads and tetrads in haploid plants were reported. © 2009 Society for Sugar Research & Promotion.
