Die Behandlung von Gesichtsfalten mit Botulinumtoxin hat sich zum festen Bestandteil der ästhetischen Medizin entwickelt. Die nötigen fachlichen und technischen Voraussetzungen zur Aufnahme ins eigene Therapiespektrum sind in jeder mund-, kiefer- und gesichtschirurgischen Ambulanz gegeben. Nach einer Präparateübersicht und Hinweisen zur technischen Handhabung werden die etablierten Indikationsgebiete der paralysierenden Injektionsbehandlung der mimischen Muskulatur sowie die Kontraindikationen und Nebenwirkungen dargestellt.
