Effect of free surface boundary condition on reflected waves in a half-space piezoelectric semiconductor medium

摘要
The article deals with the response of incident elastic waves striking the interface of the piezoelectric half-space medium. The medium selected is elastic with transversely isotropic properties. The dispersion relation for free surface boundary conditions is obtained by using an analytical technique of time-harmonic wave solution. The theoretical results indicate that the incident wave results in the generation of four reflected waves including the thermal wave. A thermal disturbance that travels through the selected medium is encountered by the concept of the classical theory of thermoelasticity. The theoretical analysis done is represented graphically for a particular medium ZnO. Validations of the computed results have been justified by the conservation of energy flux.
