摘要：

The scale of hydraulic power engineering in Russia is outlined. Modern problems of hydraulic power engineering are considered: Ageing of equipment, health and safety issues, and unfinished hydropower constructions. The prospects for the development of the Russian hydroelectric power industry are considered with reference to the need for investment and price increases for electric power.
