In this work we give a new lower bound on the Morse index for constant mean curvature tori of revolution immersed in the three-sphere \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${{\mathbb{S}}^{3}}$$\end{document}, by computing some explicit negative eigenvalues for an operator associated to the Jacobi’s one.
