Influence of Soret and Dufour on Free Convective Second Grade Fluid Flow Between Porous Parallel Plates with Chemical Reaction

The present article examines the thermal-diffusion and diffusion-thermo effects on an unsteady incompressible natural convective flow and heat transfer of chemically reacting second grade fluid between parallel plates through non-Darcy porous medium. Assume that there is a periodic suction/injection along the plates and the concentration and temperature are changing periodically with time. Also the periodic heat flux is considered at the lower plate. The governing equations of momentum, temperature and concentration are converted as non-linear ordinary differential equations by using suitable similarity transformations then solved numerically with the shooting method along with Runge–Kutta method of fourth order. The results are described for primary and secondary velocity profiles, temperature and concentration distributions, heat and mass transfer rates with respect to distinct fluid and geometric parameters and shown through graphs and tables. The temperature distribution of the fluid increases with a Soret number, whereas the concentration distribution of the fluid is downturn with increasing of the chemical reaction parameter. © 2018, Springer (India) Private Ltd., part of Springer Nature.
