Complaints are a recognised feature of dental practice but they arise only when precipitating factors occur with predisposing factors.Good communication is the key to reducing patient complaints.Record keeping is an essential skill and the ten key features of good record keeping are described.Risk management concepts are explored with emphasis on learning from mistakes.
