The solidification of high-speed steels is calculated with the Pandat and JMatPro software packages. The results of calculating equilibrium and nonequilibrium solidification are presented and discussed. The nonequilibrium solidification is simulated using the Shelley–Gulliver model. The fraction of carbides changes as a function of the carbon content in the steels. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
