The Hybrid Modes of Sensitivity of Surface Plasmon Polaritons Using Metal and Chiral Medium Geometry

The angular interrogation of hybrid modes of sensitivity of surface plasmon polariton waves (SPPs) at the interface of chiral atomic medium and silver metal by using grating geometry is investigated in this manuscript. The cross coupling of electric and magnetic fields in chiral medium generates hybrid modes of sensitivity S±\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$S^{\pm }$$\end{document} of SPPs. The hybrid modes of sensitivity strongly depend upon the diffraction order, grating period and driving fields parameters. The hybrid modes of sensitivity (S±\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$S^{\pm }$$\end{document}) are the functions of control field Rabi frequency, decay rate and probe detuning. The maximum value of S(+)\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$S^{(+)}$$\end{document} is investigated to 1500 deg/RIU and S(-)\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$S^{(-)}$$\end{document} is reported to 800 deg/RIU. The hybrid modes of sensitivity show significant applications in nano-photonics and plasmonster based sensing technology.
