摘要
Microstructure, texture, and magnetic properties of 0.75%Si non-oriented silicon steel fabricated by strip casting process were investigated. The as-cast strip exhibits strong λ fiber texture because of selective solidification along 〈100〉 orientation. It is found that hot rolling temperature greatly affects the grain size, texture, and magnetic properties of annealed strip. For those strips hot-rolled at 950 °C, the final specimens exhibit fine recrystallization microstructure and strong Goss texture, which gives rise to a core loss of P1.5 = 5.10 W/kg and magnetic induction of B50 = 1.80 T. In contrast, coarse recrystallization microstructure and strong λ fiber texture are found for those strips hot-rolled at 1050 °C, which results in lower core loss (P1.5 = 4.74 W/kg) and similar magnetic induction (B50 = 1.79 T). The present work helps to understand the microstructure and texture evolution in strip casting processes to optimize the magnetic properties. © 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York and ASM International.
