摘要
Neoplasms of the hand frequently require amputation which is associated with significant disability and disfigurement. Although reconstruction using autologous cortical bone grafts has been performed in such cases, bone resorption is a common problem and allogeneic bone may be required to fill large defects. Reconstruction using cancellous bone is an alternative technique that we have developed to overcome the limitations of cortical grafts. Here, we present five cases of bone tumours of the hand which have undergone reconstruction using a cancellous bone grafting technique. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
