Design and implementation of a new memristive chaotic system with coexisting attractors and offset boosting behaviors

Memristive chaotic system has been a hot study topic in the development of nonlinear system for many years. In this work, a new chaotic system based on the classical integer order jerk system is investigated, and the chaotic system addressed here incorporates a nonlinear ingredient, namely the memristor. Dynamical properties of the proposed memristive system are investigated using attractor phase diagrams, stability analyses, Lyapunov exponents, and bifurcation diagrams. Numerical analysis shows that it can generate a variety of complex dynamical behaviors, including chaotic attractor and period-doubling bifurcation, as well as coexisting attractors and local offset boosting. Finally, an analog circuit and a microcontroller-based hardware implementation of the system are given. The hardware circuit results are compatible with the numerical simulation results, indicating that the chaotic oscillator based on memristor is feasible.
