Tracheal Bronchus: Case Report and Literature Review

Tracheal bronchus is a rare congenital anomaly of the airway. In this type of anomaly, a bronchus originates from the trachea. A few numbers of publications have studied the frequency and diagnostic procedures of this anomaly due to its rarity. It is usually asymptomatic; however, it could present with recurrent respiratory infection or any of pulmonary complications. This report aimed at presenting a child patient with recurrent right upper lung lobe infection who developed bronchiectatic changes and a tracheal bronchus was diagnosed during work-up. Furthermore, it introduced a review of literature on this clinical entity and its implications.
