Peculiarities of the production of elongated items from a ceramic material with nanoscale structure by the SHS extrusion method

The results of the development of the SHS extrusion process for the production of elongated items with nanoscale structure from composite ceramic materials containing the wear-resistant TiC and TiB2 components and the Al2O3-ZrO2 oxide eutectic composition are reported. The influence of the technological and design parameters of the SHS extrusion process on the quality of the resulting elongated rods and on the reproducibility of the process itself is studied experimentally. Microstructures and physical and mechanical properties of the obtained products are investigated. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
