摘要
Amyloidosis is a rare disease of multifactorial pathogenesis. Localized amyloidosis of the palate is extremely rare and only four cases have been reported. We present the fifth case in which amyloidosis occurred as a nodule in the hard palate of a 74-year-old woman. The nodule was diagnosed as amyloid light-chain amyloidosis. Further investigations did not show systemic involvement. The patient was kept under observation and during 17 months of follow-up had no progression of the lesion and systemic amyloidosis did not develop. © Springer-Verlag 2009.
