摘要
In the present study, the influence of velocity slip and suction at the boundary on the steady laminar convective boundary layer flow over a flat plate with convective boundary condition is analyzed. Similarity transformation is used to transform the boundary layer equations which are coupled with partial differential equations into system of ordinary differential equations, which are then solved semi-analytically by homotopy analysis method. The results obtained are presented for several values of the physical governing parameter and comparison with the results published in literature are in perfect agreement. Increase in the slip parameter increases the velocity to a point that the momentum boundary layer becomes thinner. The convective parameter increases as the plate surface temperature increases. The suction on the viscous incompressible fluid suppresses the velocity field and Prandtl number increases by decreasing the temperature and the thermal boundary layer thickness as a result of increase in fluid viscosity. © 2016, The Institution of Engineers (India).
