摘要
The memorability of the loaded rock is the basis of the directionality of the rock acoustic emission (AE). The influence of cracks in the rock on the directionality of the rock AE Kaiser effect is still inconclusive. In this study, the Brazilian test was performed at different angles using the complete and pre-cracked sandstone disc specimens to verify the memorability of the rock to load and directionality of the rock AE Kaiser effect. We obtained the following results: (1) The angle between the second and original load directions affects the memorability of the rock. As the angle increases, the memorability of the load gradually disappears. In other words, the Kaiser effect of the rock gradually disappears as the angle increases; (2) the Kaiser effect directionality of cracked sandstone is clearer than that of complete sandstone, as the Kaiser effect of cracked sandstone disappears faster in the rotation process. © 2021, Saudi Society for Geosciences.
