Kinetic regularities of the oxidation of crotonaldehyde with molecular oxygen in ethyl acetate

It has been established that the rate of oxidation increases linearly with increasing concentration of crotonaldehyde to 5 mol/L. An increase of the oxygen partial pressure to 0.1 MPa accelerated the oxidation process and the kinetic order with respect to oxygen is close to 0.6. The temperature dependence of the oxidation of crotonaldehyde and the accumulation of specific products have been established. The effects of reaction conditions on the selective accumulation ofcrotonic andpercrotonic acids have been analyzed. ©1999 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publisher.
