Copoly(arylene phthalides) in the thermal polymerization of styrene

摘要
The thermal polymerization of styrene in the presence of polymer initiators, copoly(arylene phthalides) of the diphenyl oxide series with different ratios of two adjacent (“head-to-head”) and single (“head-to-tail”) phthalide groups, was studied. Depending on the composition of copoly(arylene phthalides), either copolymers enriched in styrene units, or copolymers with prevailing arylphthalide groups are formed. Diphilic macromolecules of the copolymers form micelles in solutions, the size of which is determined by the ratio of styrene and phthalide units.
