摘要
Unilateral retinal hemorrhage in infants can be caused by vitaminK deficiency. The case described here with fatal outcome presents the medical history of a2-month-old infant with vitamin K deficiency bleeding caused by the refusal of vitamin K prophylaxis by the parents. Ocular signs were unilateral intraretinal hemorrhage with Roth spots and preretinal hemorrhage over the complete back of the eye. The case demonstrates the importance of vitamin K prophylaxis for newborns.
