An approach to adapting solutions that are derived from case-based reasoning is considered. The approach is based on the use of group decision-making methods. The proposed approach can be regarded as a new method of transformational adaptation in the context of planning. Cases that are used for solving planning problems contain plans in the form of totally or partially ordered action sequences (parts of solution). As a result of using the proposed approach, existing plans are transformed into a single plan that is precisely used to support decision making in a new situation. A detailed description of the approach and an example of its use in solving a real-life problem are given. © 2015, Allerton Press, Inc.
