In this study, M-type Sr1–xLaxFe12O19 (x = 0.00–0.15) ferrite was prepared by traditional solid-phase sintering. Based on the amount of doping, we used X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and vibration sample magnetometer characterization to study the regular changes in the microstructure and magnetic properties at the optimal temperature. The results demonstrate that all the samples had an M-type strontium ferrite structure and good morphology, with the typical hexagonal plate-like grains. With the increase of lanthanum element, the grain size was also refined. Furthermore, FTIR confirmed the formation of tetrahedrons and octahedrons with a ferrite structure, and the magnetic performance and coercive force were improved (702.2 Oe) when the saturation magnetization loss (0.547 emu/g) was low.
