摘要
In a shopping mall or a grocery shop, customers search and select the desired items for themselves. After selecting the products, they have to stand in long queues for billing of all the artefacts. In order to reduce this time, a smart shopping trolley has been proposed which can eliminate the need to stand in the queue for payment of the bill. The smart trolley is equipped with a radio frequency identification device reader which automatically scans the item as the customer places the item in the trolley and adds its cost in the final bill which customer can view on his mobile screen. The customer will be able to check the items in his cart and pay the final bill through cash/ online payment modes. In addition, this system offers functionality to suggest the offers and discounts (if available) for patrons and allows the customer to search for the items in their mobile to check its availability and exact location. Moreover, there will be a radio frequency identification device reader gateway at the exit for anti-theft. Employing this system may result in substantial reduction in the total shopping time. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.
