This study aims to focus on fatigue life assessment on GMAW of DMR249A steel (UNS K12249). The fatigue test was carried out using five levels of yield strength and completely reversed stress cycle. The fatigue behavior of HSLA steel correlated with tensile, impact, hardness, and microstructural characteristics. The maximum recorded fatigue life of the GMAW and parent metal is about 355 and 394 MPa, respectively. The fatigue properties of GMAW joints are relatively lower due to internal residual stress, grain deformation, and microstructural changes. Although, the produced S–N curves of the DMR249A steel were compared to the conventional IIW FAT curve.
