摘要
Ever since the work of van der Waals in 1873, the modeling of systems containing water and hydrocarbons is still a key point in the development of new thermodynamic approaches and technologies. The applicability, reliability and accuracy of models for estimating the physical properties and phase behavior of fluids depend on the comprehensiveness of the data sets employed for their development. In this work, 3576 data points were analyzed for binary systems containing water and n-alkanes, from methane to n-decane, retrieved from two databases and other research works. Statistics were calculated and presented alongside considerations about tendencies and regions where information might be scarce. This work could assist in the location of the desired information where it is available, providing complete references (not available in the databases), and offer suggestions for further research in systems requiring experimental work, contributing to a larger availability of overall data and a greater ease of modeling and accuracy in calculation results.
