摘要
An overview of the properties, benefits and applications of polyurethane coatings for corrosion protection of metals. Polyurethanes of various structures with different technological, physiochemical and anti-corrosion properties can be manufactured depending on the initial components and reaction conditions. Properties can be varied within wide limits. Materials are classified as either one-component or two-component. Surface preparation requirements and technology are briefly outlined. Russia has since stopped domestic production, but uses materials from German company Steelpaint. This company has considerable experience in a range of applications and climatic zones worldwide. One-component coatings from Steelpaint have been used for anti-corrosion works on metal components of the Riga and Kegum hydroelectric power stations in Latvia.
