This paper is an extended abstract of a tutorial devoted to bio-inspired computer vision neural models. It includes a description of the Human Visual System, the BCS/FCS model, and neural architectures for color image segmentation and color and textured image recognition. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
