摘要
The current understanding of the pathophysiology of myofascial pain and the mechanism of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) suggest that BoNT may be well suited to the treatment of back pain. The few randomized controlled trials that have been done to evaluate the efficacy of BoNT in the treatment of myofascial low back pain have shown some promising results. Results from the more numerous trials of BoNT for treatment of myofascial thoracic and neck pain have only shown trends toward the efficacy of BoNT treatments compared with control treatments. © 2013, Springer Science + Business Media New York.
