Introduction of the guide to theExpression of Uncertainty in Measurement in Russia

It is shown that the differences between the concept of measurement uncertainty and traditional error theory are mainly terminological. Thus, introduction of the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement does not involve a transition to new methods of measurement-accuracy evaluation or a total revision of the archive of metrological reference documents. It will be sufficient to make the transition to the language of uncertainty in compiling verification and calibration certificates and measurement reports.
