Calculation of the reflectance and transmittance of a disperse layer by the neural network method

A method for calculating the reflectance and transmittance, as well as the luminance factor of a light-scattering layer using radial basis function neural networks is developed. In the domain of variation of particles’ parameters, absolute errors of the calculation of the reflectance and transmittance are 4 × 10−4−10−3, which is comparable with the error of the calculation by the numerical layer adding method and is one or two orders of magnitude less than the errors in the calculation of the reflectance and transmittance by approximate Eddington formulas.
