Abstract: Methods of designing electric motors for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are considered. The analysis shows that there is no established methodology for designing UAV electric motors that would take into account the peculiarities of their performance in various modes and allow determining the most efficient operating range of the electric motor. A method of designing UAV electric motors tied to their running modes is proposed. The method of designing an electric motor for UAVs in the Ansys Maxwell applied software suite is described. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2023.
